The Most Worshipful Grand Master, Honorable Paul W. Robinson has issued Edict #2 regarding requirement for membership into the Order of the Eastern Star.

Under Article XX, paragraph 205, Section 1 by the By-Laws of Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star Jurisdiction of Michigan the requirement for membership is being waived for any female petitioning for membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. This means a petitioner does not have to have a blood tie as a requirement for membership.

A member in good standing in a chapter must recommend the petitioner and a unanimous vote, by the usual means of voting, is required for acceptance.

This requirement for membership will be in effect for the period November 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012. This Edict applies to the Order of the Eastern Star only and is to be read at your next business and work night meetings in October, November, and December
